is a science of right moments that uses

to chart out the position of sun, moon
and the planets unique to a person's

used in the understanding of a person's
nature, his life paths and all the good
and the bad associated with his unique
birth moment. A practitioner of astrology
is called an astrologer.
An astrologer needs to have fundamental
knowledge in mathematics and astronomy.
Our solar system consists of sun and
the nine planets - mercury, venus, earth,
mars, jupiter, saturn, uranus, neptune
and pluto (which has recently been domoted
from the status of a planet. The demotion
of the planet pluto will not affect
the astrological predictions that have
been done for centuries now because
horoscopes are developed using 9 houses
which are sun, moon, mars, jupiter,
mercury, venus, saturn, ascending lunar
node and descending lunar node.). Six
of the planets in our solar system are
surrounded by their moons. These planets
include earth, mars, jupiter, saturn
and neptune. All nine planets revolve
around the sun in regular stable and
nearly circular orbits.
Determining the position of planets
is very essential. It was found that
planets moved in plane that created
a belt which represents a circles around
the earth. This circular belt is called
the zodiac which is divided into twelve
equal parts of 30 degrees. The beginning
point of the zodiac is Aries. However
the twelve group of stars were not considered
to be strictly 30 degrees apart. The
movement of one group was comparatively
faster than the other. Hence came about
two types of zodiac - the tropical and
the sidereal. The sidereal zodiac was
divided into 27 constellations with
equal parts of thirteen degrees and
20 minutes each. The sideral zodiac
is widely used by many astrologers.
